Well, I guess a lot of things can make me laugh, such as a particularly funny joke from my friend Jack, an entertaining family comedy, a piece of traditional Chinese cross talk and an amusing witty skit on TV or on the Internet.

Well, I think most people don’t know exactly what will make them laugh and at what moment they will laugh. This is mainly because human laughter is so natural and unpredictable. As far as I am concerned, a talk show on the radio is the source of so many of my laughs, especially when the punch line comes out, and I will burst into a fit of laughter uncontrollably. Sometimes, I will also laugh at my own foolish ideas while I am absorbed in daydreaming.

As a senior worker of my company, I have proposed many useful ideas to my supervisors. One thing that caught my attention last year was that people in the workplace tended to show reduced efficiency after a certain period of doing their tasks. On closer observations, I found that the lack of face-to-face communication as well as a relaxing atmosphere was responsible for this phenomenon. So I wrote a proposal to my boss, saying that the company may need a small lounge for employees to unwind themselves and refresh their exhausted minds. The idea got accepted immediately and everyone in the company seemed to enjoy spending some time in the lounge. Apparently, there is a strong link between relaxation and working efficiency: when people become relaxed in a cozy environment and start to engage in casual conversations, they can find back their lost energy and enthusiasm and therefore increase their working efficiency in a good mood.
