Hi, I’m Gloria. I’ve been teaching English in China for four years now. During my course of teaching, I have come face to face with the different aspects of teaching English to the Chinese people with varying levels.
There are many underlying assumptions with regards to ESL/EFL teaching and learning.
As an ESL/EFL teacher with long years of experience both in EFL and ESL settings, I could safely say that, language learning and teaching can be an exciting and refreshing interval in the day for students and teacher.
Whatever must be the reasons why people learn English, the core of the learning process depends much on the teacher-student relationship in dealing with their language learning. Suffice to say, that second language acquisition depends much on what actually happens inside the classrooms.
In view of these, the teacher’s ability and devotion to the
profession coupled with the student’s willingness to learn could work wonders if not magic in teaching and learning English.
