My name is Herminio. I know, it is a strange name, but that is because I was born in Spain. I grew up in England where I went to school and university. I read Modern Languages at the University of Wales, Cardiff and then went on to do a Masters degree in Literature at Birbeck College, University of London. My first job was as a trainee translator at the EU (European Union) in Luxembourg in 1989, but not liking offices I decided to become a teacher and have been teaching ever since.

I came to China for the first time in January 2003 and taught English in different cities in the mainland, including Hangzhou (where I worked for WEB), Nanjing and Shanghai.   I have been in Xiamen now for just over a month and hope to remain here a long time.

I am interested in the Arts, and especially in Chinese language and history. In my spare time I like to walk on the beach, read Russian authors and eat hot pot.

I hope we can learn a lot together.
